This policy explains how the Unisotel booking website uses cookies and similar technologies, what purposes they serve, and how you can accept, refuse or configure their placement at any time.
It supplements our Privacy Policy and applies to the website accessible at www.unisotel.fr.
Unisotel is a commercial brand operated by the HONPO group. The publisher of the website is SAS HONPO, SIREN 521 436 238, RCS Paris, whose registered office is located at 39 avenue Pierre 1er de Serbie, 75008 Paris.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on and/or read from your device (computer, tablet, phone) by the website you visit or by third parties, when you browse a website, read an e-mail or use an application.
Cookies serve various functions: enabling or facilitating navigation, remembering your session, securing your login, measuring the website's audience, or displaying certain content provided by third-party services.
The term "cookie" is used here in its broad sense: it also covers other trackers that may be used (for example, browser local storage or identifiers placed by authentication services).
2. The principle: consent for non-essential trackers
In accordance with the applicable regulations (the "ePrivacy" Directive, Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés), and the recommendations of the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL)), we distinguish two categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies (or essential functional cookies), essential to the operation of the website and to the provision of the service you request: they are exempt from consent and are therefore placed without any action on your part.
- Non-essential cookies (audience measurement, non-essential third-party cookies), which may only be placed with your prior consent, unless expressly exempted.
Where your consent is required, you can accept or refuse these cookies with the same ease and at the same level: refusing must be as easy as accepting. Refusal (or the absence of a choice) has no impact on your access to the website or on your ability to make a booking.

Current status of the website. As at the date this policy was updated, the audience-measurement tools (Google Analytics, Ahrefs) are not activated. As things stand, the website places only strictly necessary cookies (authentication and session) and uses third-party functional services (Google Maps) for displaying maps and address autocompletion. Should tools subject to consent be activated, a consent-collection mechanism would first be put in place and this policy would be updated.
4. Strictly necessary cookies (exempt from consent)
These cookies are essential to enable you to use the website and its core features, in particular to:
- Authenticate you and maintain your session when you are logged in to your account (
__Host_fidcookie, Firebase token, placed securely —httpOnly). - Secure your connection and prevent fraudulent use.
- Ensure the operation of your personal area and of the booking process.
Without these cookies, certain features of the website (login, booking, account management) could not work. They are not used for advertising tracking or profiling purposes.
Under the applicable regulations, these cookies do not require your consent. You nevertheless retain the option of blocking them through your browser settings (Section 7), it being specified that this may degrade or prevent the use of the website.
5. Audience-measurement and third-party cookies (subject to consent)
When activated, audience-measurement cookies (Google Analytics, Ahrefs) are used to compile visitor statistics and improve the website. Certain third-party services (for example Google Maps for displaying maps and address autocompletion) may also place trackers governed by their own policies.
These cookies are placed only after your consent has been obtained, where required. You may at any time:
- Accept or refuse these cookies, with the same degree of ease;
- Withdraw your consent as easily as you gave it.
Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out before that withdrawal.

6. How to accept, refuse and manage your preferences
As the website currently places only strictly necessary cookies (exempt from consent), no consent banner is currently required or displayed. Should cookies subject to consent be activated (audience measurement in particular), a consent-collection module would first be put in place, allowing you to accept or refuse non-essential cookies category by category, and to change your choices at any time.
In the meantime, you can control cookies through your browser settings (Section 7), which allow you to block or delete some or all cookies.
7. Configuring your browser
You can configure your browser to accept, refuse or delete cookies, and to be notified before they are placed. Each browser offers its own management options, described in its help menu:

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the website from functioning properly (login and booking in particular).
8. Validity period of your consent
Where consent is collected, it is not valid indefinitely. In accordance with the recommendations of the CNIL, we will ask you to make a choice again upon expiry of a period of 6 months.
The retention period of the cookies placed is indicated in the table in Section 3. The retention period of audience-measurement trackers will not exceed 13 months, and that of the information collected through these trackers will not exceed 25 months, in accordance with the recommendations of the CNIL.
9. Your rights
As cookies may lead to the processing of personal data, you have the rights provided for by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL — Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés), the French supervisory authority.
10. Changes to this policy
This cookie policy may be amended at any time, in particular to reflect legal, regulatory or technical developments (for example, the activation of new audience-measurement tools). Any update will be published on this page with a new revision date.
